This site is for you
, the art lover, who enjoys
vsiting museums and galleries but doesn't
always have the time to do so.
"Good art" is hard to define because "good"
is, as we know, "in the eyes of the beholder."
What you perceive as beautiful - or good- another sees differently.
Even "good art" is a disputed concept
because art is the reflection of the soul of the artist.
So how can we judge if art is "good" or not when
art comes from a person's inner being?
In this site you won't see masterpieces of famous
artists, but the creations of many artists, including the
works of the sculptor Drora Ben-Dori, the heart and soul
behind the creation of this site.
There have always been periods when art critics have
tried to establish "rules" for artists. However, the miserable
artists never accomplished anything when trying
to create according to these "rules". Moreover, many
artists, while ignoring these "rules", managed to reach
harmony that no one believed could be reached.
As there are no rules that can teach us when a
painting or sculpture is done "correctly", it is
difficult to explain in words why we see a certain
art work as a masterpiece.
There is an old saying which says:
"There is no accounting for taste."
However, we cant' forget that taste develops
over time and taste according to an artist is much
more sophisticated than the taste of food or drink.
